Good morning everyone. Welcome to the 7th South East Asia Design Research International Conference (SEA-DR 2019). I am Yosep Dwi Kristanto, a lecturer in the department of mathematics education, here at Sanata Dharma University. As the chair of the committee, I will not be able to stand here, in front of all of you today, if not because seventeen amazing people in the organizing committee who have been with me since the very beginning.
In bringing this conference into reality, we envision four core values; rigor, impact, prestige, and service, as the building bricks of the foundation, on which we lay our effort and hard work. We accomplish these core values through different aspects of the conference.

SEA-DR 2019 Core Values: Rigor, Impact, Prestige, and Service
For rigor, we ensure it through double-blind peer review and clear criteria for abstract acceptance. These criteria filtered two hundred and thirty unique abstracts into two hundred and twenty-one, whose full paper were further selected by 41 outstanding reviewers from different institutions. This thorough selection process makes this conference the best venue to discuss various topics in education, among others, are design research, PMRI, problem-based learning, ethnomathematics, and problem-solving.
We strive for impact through collaborating with many quality national and international journal, ensuring impactful studies to be included in the conference through funding selected participants, and the geographic diversity of our authors. The journal that partnering with us are Jurnal Pendidikan IPA Indonesia, Journal on Mathematics Education (JME), Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika, REiD (Research and Evaluation in Education), Infinity Journal, International Journal on Emerging Mathematics Education (IJEME), and LLT Journal: A Journal on Language and Language Teaching, which evidently belong to diverse field and in turn, wider readership. Furthermore, the impact of our conference is also ensured through the spread of our authors, who not only come from different parts of Indonesia, but also from other countries.
We strive for prestige by inviting distinguished speakers who are experts in their fields and obtaining an acknowledgement from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. We have five keynote speakers from five different countries, nine invited speakers, along with three workshop instructors.
As for service, we deliver our best through the committee who takes the participants’ best interests at heart; taking care of the participants throughout the conference; as well as appreciating and recognizing outstanding papers by awarding best paper and best student paper.
This conference is the result of the hard work, support, and dedication of a number of parties. We wish to thank all the committee members who together make the conference possible. The committee has been working throughout the year to propose sessions, review a record number of submissions, answer queries, arrange the schedule, and response to last-minute requests. We also want to thank Sanata Dharma University; Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia; Sogang University and SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics for their contribution to fund the conference. Last but not least, we thank all the submitter and reviewer who are the backbone of this conference.
Thank you for being here with us. We value your presence at this conference. Enjoy the conference!
