The USD delegation consisted of Rafael Nugroho Putra Susanto (English Letters), Sebastianus Gaga Bani (English Letters), Edward Vito Brata Yuwana (Informatics), Gabriela Selomita Rumondor (Mathematics Education), Aileen Komala Widjaja (Psychology), Gabriel Yohan Enggalim Kobak (Pharmacy), and Intan Putri Hapsari as the faculty companion from the Biology Education Study Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.19-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7897\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.19-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.19-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.19-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.19.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cross-Cultural Experience<\/strong><br>This program invited participants to encounter cross-cultural experiences while deepening their social, spiritual, and environmental awareness. Participants came from Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, and Timor Leste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFeelings of anxiety, fear, and uncertainty instantly disappeared when we were all united by a sense of warmth, curiosity, and a desire to get to know one another,\u201d said Rafael Susanto, recounting his initial experience meeting delegates from other countries during lunch at Short Highland Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"597\" src=\"https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18-1-1024x597.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7898\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18-1-1024x597.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18-1-300x175.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18-1-768x448.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18-1.jpeg 1125w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Immersion and Conservation Activities<\/strong><br>Immersion activities that required participants to stay with local families in Balatasan and Punta Tarawal provided valuable lessons about the simplicity of life. Gabriel Yohan remembered the warm welcome from residents who were able to smile and be warm despite their simple lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey are still able to smile, remain friendly, and be warm despite living in simplicity,\u201d said Gabriel Yohan. The program also involved direct conservation activities such as \u201cForest in Our Midst\/Tree Nurturing\u201d and \u201cMangrove Planting.\u201d Rafael wrote a reflection on his experience planting mangroves for the first time abroad, which made him determined to continue similar actions in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Moment of Reflection in Nature<\/strong><br>The visit to Malabsay Falls was one of the most memorable moments. Edward Vito wrote about his experience, \u201cFelt like being hugged by nature\u2026 We seemed so small compared to the fall,\u201d reminding us of humanity&#8217;s place as part of nature, not its ruler.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aileen Komala Widjaja also found peace in the spacious grounds of the Sacred Heart Formation Center, where participants stayed. \u201cAfter the activities were over, I was able to walk around the monastery while enjoying the fresh air and tranquility of the surroundings,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"578\" src=\"https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18-1024x578.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7901\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18-1024x578.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18-768x433.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/unit.usd.ac.id\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-14.22.18.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Personal Transformation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sebastianus Gaga Bani considered SLP to be an \u201cinner journey\u201d that has made him more sensitive to the voices of nature and his fellow human beings. \u201cFor me, SLP is not just a community service program, but an inner journey that has shaped a new awareness that nature is not something outside of myself, but a part of myself,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriela Selomita Rumondor felt an energy that made her feel relieved. \u201cActivities like SLP make me feel energized, and the waterfall invites me to love deeply and be grateful for everything,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AJCU-AP Service Learning Program 2025 not only provided academic experiences but also served as a means of character development and environmental awareness for participants.
